The Galleria in Houston is the largest shopping mall in Texas and one of the largest malls in the United States by gross leasable area, with over 2.4 million square feet of retail, office, and hotel space. The complex houses more than 400 stores, two hotels, and an indoor ice rink and attracts regional and international shoppers. The Galleria opened in stages beginning in 1970 and remains a major retail destination in the Houston area.
