339 Grand Street

339 Grand Street, also known as 57 Ludlow Street, is a historic building located in the Lower East Side of Manhattan, New York City. Completed between 1831 and 1833 in the Federal style, it is one of the few surviving examples of this architectural style in the area. Originally built as part of a row of houses by John Jacob Astor, it has served various purposes over the years, including as a storefront since at least 1884. The building features distinctive Flemish bond brickwork and retains many original elements, making it a significant landmark, officially designated by the New York City Landmarks Preservation Commission in 2013. Its unique architectural features and historical significance make it an interesting site for tourists and researchers alike.
