Michigan Central Station urban legends

Michigan Central Station, a Beaux-Arts train station opened in 1913, was long vacant and extensively photographed and filmed, and it became a focal point for Detroit urban legends and anecdotal ghost stories in local media and popular-interest coverage. Visitors, urban explorers, and journalists have reported eerie atmospheres and various unverified paranormal claims tied to the site; those claims remain anecdotal. The building’s decades of abandonment and visible decay are documented and are a primary reason it entered local myth and folklore. Ford Motor Company purchased the station in 2018 and has carried out restoration work since then.
