Amaliegade 45

Amaliegade 45 is a historic Neoclassical building located in the Frederiksstaden district of Copenhagen, Denmark. Constructed in the 1780s by master builder Andreas Hallander, it was later adapted by Jørgen Henrich Rawert in 1801. The building has a rich history, having been home to the family of painter Martin Rørbye, whose notable work 'View from the Artist's Window' captures the view from their apartment. Originally part of a botanical garden established in 1752, the site transitioned to residential use in the late 18th century. It was listed as a protected building in 1918, making it a significant landmark for both tourists and researchers interested in Copenhagen's architectural and cultural heritage.
