Second Bank of the United States - early Greek Revival landmark

The Second Bank of the United States building, designed by architect William Strickland and completed in 1824, is one of the earliest and most prominent examples of Greek Revival architecture in the United States. Located on Chestnut Street, the building later housed a portrait gallery and has been used for public exhibitions and historic interpretation. Its marble façade and classical form made it a model for civic architecture in the early republic.
