Barton Springs Pool (WPA-era municipal pool)

Barton Springs Pool is a spring-fed public swimming pool in Zilker Park that has been used for public bathing since the late 19th and early 20th centuries. Significant stonework and pool enclosure features were added during municipal improvements in the 1930s, including projects associated with the Works Progress Administration. The pool remains operated by the City of Austin and retains original spring-fed infrastructure alongside later mechanical filtration and pumping systems.
