Atchison County Memorial Building

The Atchison County Memorial Building, located in Rock Port, Missouri, is a historic site built in 1919 in the Classical Revival style. This two-story reinforced concrete structure serves as a World War I memorial and community center, featuring impressive Doric columns on its facade. Listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1987, it is operated by the Atchison County Memorial Building Foundation, which supports various community programs. Notably, the building houses the Liberty Theatre, which has hosted over forty community events since its reopening in 2005. Visitors can also participate in the Walk of Honor, a fundraising initiative that allows individuals to purchase inscribed bricks in memory of military service members, contributing to the building's renovation efforts.
