Seattle Gas Works remnants at Gas Works Park

Gas Works Park preserves the industrial remains of the former Seattle Gas Light Company coal-gasification plant, including concrete tanks, steel structures and piping. The plant produced manufactured gas on the site from the early 20th century until the 1950s. The park opened on the rehabilitated property in the 1970s and retains the machinery as visible industrial ruins integrated into a public park.
