Thomas & Mack Center and the National Finals Rodeo residency

The Thomas & Mack Center on the UNLV campus served as the primary host arena for the Professional Rodeo Cowboys Association's National Finals Rodeo after the event moved to Las Vegas in 1985, hosting the NFR through 2015. The annual event drew large crowds each December and became a major part of Las Vegas' seasonal event culture and local rodeo lore. In 2016 the NFR moved to the newly opened T-Mobile Arena, ending the Thomas & Mack's three-decade run as the NFR's main venue.
