Middleton's Plantation

Middleton's Plantation, also known as Chisolm's Plantation, is a historic house located near Edisto Island in Charleston County, South Carolina. Built around 1830, this two-story wooden structure features unique architectural elements such as one-room wings and a raised arcaded brick basement. Visitors can admire its elegant Tuscan order colonnaded porches on both the land and water sides. The plantation was home to Oliver Hering Middleton, the son of Governor Henry Middleton of Middleton Place, and was added to the National Register of Historic Places in 1971, making it a significant site for history enthusiasts and tourists alike.
