Twin Houses

Twin Houses is a unique historic site located in Shawboro, Currituck County, North Carolina, built around 1797. This architectural gem features two identical Federal style homes connected by a transverse hall, showcasing a hall-and-parlor layout and charming exterior end chimneys. Recognized for its historical significance, it was added to the National Register of Historic Places in 1972. Visitors can also find the graves of Col. Henry Shaw and his wife on the property, which is currently owned by local historian E. Ray Ethridge, making it a fascinating stop for both tourists and researchers interested in early American architecture and history.
