Thomas Brown House (Inwood, West Virginia)

The Thomas Brown House, built around 1741, is the oldest known dwelling in Berkeley County, West Virginia. Originally a log cabin for Quaker farmer Thomas Brown, it played a significant role in the early agricultural development of the area, particularly in orchardry. The house features large hewn logs, distinctive gun ports, and has undergone renovations since 1983. Visitors can explore the historic structure, which includes a log meat house and a stone springhouse, and appreciate its placement on the National Register of Historic Places since 1986.
