Notley Abbey

Notley Abbey, located near Long Crendon in Buckinghamshire, England, is a historic Augustinian abbey founded in the 12th century. Once one of the largest and richest monasteries in the Oxford region, it has a rich history, having been visited by notable figures like Henry IV and Henry V. The abbey was dissolved in 1538 and later transformed into a farmhouse. In the 20th century, it became the residence of famous actors Laurence Olivier and Vivien Leigh, who hosted parties and filmed movies there. Today, the remnants of Notley Abbey are owned by Bijou Wedding Venues and serve as a picturesque location for weddings and private events, blending historical architecture with modern celebrations.
