De Grey Rooms

The De Grey Rooms is a historic Grade II* listed building in York, England, constructed between 1841 and 1842. Originally built for military social events, it features a neo-classical design by architect George Townsend Andrews and has served various purposes over the years, including a ballroom and concert hall. Notably, during its construction, a hoard of Anglo-Saxon coins was discovered nearby. The building has been used as a tourist information center and is currently managed by the York Conservation Trust, which leases it to York Theatre Royal for storage and rehearsals.
