The Buenos Aires Stock Exchange (BCBA), established in 1854, is Argentina's primary stock exchange located in the heart of Buenos Aires. It operates as a self-regulated non-profit organization, representing various sectors of the economy. The most notable index is the MERVAL, which tracks key stocks. The exchange's headquarters, designed by architect Alejandro Christophersen, features a modernist annex by Mario Roberto Álvarez. It also houses a specialized library with over 20,000 volumes on stock markets and commercial law, making it a valuable resource for researchers and students. Currently, the BCBA is enhancing its database to support a national bibliographic network, furthering access to extensive knowledge resources.
