Coleman A. Young Municipal Center (International Style civic building)

Completed in 1955 as the City-County Building and later renamed the Coleman A. Young Municipal Center, this block-long civic building exemplifies mid-20th-century International Style municipal architecture in Detroit. The building's plaza façade features the Spirit of Detroit, a large bronze statue by sculptor Marshall Fredericks, anchored at the main entrance. It has served as Detroit's primary municipal office complex since its opening.
