Dallas City Hall plaza and sloped roof

Designed by architect I.M. Pei, Dallas City Hall's recessed plaza and sloping concrete roof create an elevated public space that frames views across downtown Dallas. The plaza's stepped terraces and open forecourt are frequently used by locals and visitors for views and photo vantage points of nearby high-rises. The design deliberately provides sightlines toward the central business district from the civic campus.
