French Legation Museum

The French Legation Museum is housed in one of Austin’s oldest frame houses, originally built in 1841 to serve as the diplomatic residence of France to the Republic of Texas. The site operates as a historic house museum interpreting early Austin and Republic-era history and preserves the house and surrounding grounds. The museum is open to the public for tours and educational programming on a posted schedule.
