Kimbell Art Museum (Louis Kahn building)

The Kimbell Art Museum's original building, designed by architect Louis I. Kahn, opened in 1972 and is widely regarded as a masterpiece of museum architecture for its vaulted galleries and controlled natural light. The museum's collection and Kahn building are considered significant in both art and architectural history; a Renzo Piano addition opened in 2013 to expand facilities. The Kimbell is located in Fort Worth's Cultural District and is a registered cultural landmark in the city.
