Paul de Longpré Residence

The Paul de Longpré Residence, established in 1901 in Hollywood, California, was a stunning 3-acre estate known for its elaborate Mission Revival/Moorish mansion and extensive rose gardens featuring over 4000 roses in 800 varieties. It became Hollywood's first tourist attraction, drawing up to 8000 visitors monthly, prompting the Pacific Electric Railway to create a trolley spur for easier access. The estate showcased de Longpré's personal art collection and hosted tours that supported the family until his death in 1911. After the family returned to France, the estate was demolished in 1927 to make way for the Warner Brothers Hollywood Theater. The gardens also served as a filming location for Mary Pickford's film 'Love Among the Roses.'
