Jerome Cooperative Creamery

The Jerome Cooperative Creamery, located in Jerome, Idaho, is a historic cooperative known for its unique lava rock structures, which were built between 1915 and 1933 by master stonemason H.T. Pugh. This site was added to the National Register of Historic Places in 1983. In its prime, the creamery significantly contributed to the local economy, paying over $1.1 million in 1939 for butterfat and producing nearly 2 million pounds of butter in 1926. The creamery is a testament to the agricultural heritage of the region and offers insight into the dairy industry of the early 20th century.
