METRO/METRORail - one of the largest light rail systems in Texas

The Metropolitan Transit Authority of Harris County (METRO) operates METRORail, which is one of the largest light rail systems in Texas by route length and ridership, connecting downtown Houston with neighborhoods and major destinations such as the Museum District and Texas Medical Center. METRO's administrative headquarters and central operations are located at its METRO Center, which manages planning, service operations, and system expansions. The light rail network has undergone multiple extensions since its 2004 opening.
