Isabella Stewart Gardner Museum (Venetian palazzo model)

The Isabella Stewart Gardner Museum building, designed by Willard T. Sears and completed in 1903, was intentionally modeled on a 15th-century Venetian palazzo. The museum centers on an enclosed, plant-filled courtyard modeled on Venetian palace courts and preserves Gardner's original arrangement of artworks and furnishings.
