Crown and Thistle Inn, Monmouth

The Crown and Thistle Inn, located in the historic Agincourt Square of Monmouth, Wales, has a rich history dating back to its origins as an apothecary. This public house, situated near the River Monnow, was known for its charming garden and picturesque views, making it a favored spot for refreshments in the early 19th century. Notably, it briefly hosted one of the earliest Masonic Lodges in Monmouthshire, the Royal Augustus Lodge, which operated from 1815 until its disbandment in 1830.
