Villa Somalia

Villa Somalia, located in Mogadishu, serves as the presidential residence and office of the President of Somalia. Originally built in the Art Deco style by Italian colonial authorities in 1936, it has a rich history, transitioning from a governor's residence to the presidential palace after Somalia's independence in 1960. The villa has witnessed significant historical events, including the civil war and various power struggles, but remains a symbol of modernist architecture in Mogadishu. Recently renovated, it is currently occupied by President Hassan Sheikh Mohamud and continues to play a central role in Somalia's political landscape.
