Lund University Main Building

The Lund University Main Building, known as Universitetshuset, is an architectural gem in Lund, Sweden, designed by Helgo Zettervall and inaugurated in 1882 by King Oscar II. Built to accommodate the university's growing student population, its design reflects classical antiquity with impressive columns and ornate details. Although originally adorned with four sphinxes, the first set was removed due to poor quality, leading to the installation of new sphinxes in the 1990s. Despite facing criticism for its lack of uniformity, the building remains a significant landmark and a must-visit for tourists and researchers alike.
