Conibear Shellhouse

The Conibear Shellhouse is a historic rowing facility located on the University of Washington campus in Seattle, overlooking Lake Washington. Completed in 1949 and renovated in 2005, it serves as the training hub for the university's men's and women's rowing teams, known as the Washington Huskies. Named after former coach Hiram Boardman Conibear, the facility replaced an older Shell House that had been repurposed from a seaplane hangar post-World War I. Visitors can appreciate its significance in collegiate rowing and its picturesque lakeside setting.
