Naval and Marine Corps Reserve Center

The Naval and Marine Corps Reserve Center, built between 1938 and 1941 in Art Deco style, is a California Historic Landmark located in Chavez Ravine, near Dodger Stadium. Originally the largest Navy Reserve Center in the U.S., it trained over 250,000 sailors and Marines, featuring unique facilities like a mock ship deck and a rifle range. Now known as the Frank Hotchkin Memorial Training Center, it serves the Los Angeles Fire Department and commemorates firefighter Frank Hotchkin, who tragically died during a fire at the site. The center also displays a pylon from the World Trade Center and has been a filming location for numerous movies and TV shows, making it a notable site for both tourists and researchers.
