Novosibirsk Crematorium

The Novosibirsk Crematorium, established in 2003, is a unique funerary establishment located in the eastern suburb of Novosibirsk, Russia. As the first private crematorium in the country, it offers a modern approach to farewells, including the option to observe the cremation process through bulletproof glass. The site features beautifully landscaped areas with sculptures and gazebos, and is home to various animal species, including Mongolian camels and squirrels. Notably, it houses the Museum of World Funeral Culture, which is part of the International Federation of Thanatologists Associations. The crematorium gained attention for hosting Russia's first virtual funeral in 2010, allowing distant relatives to participate in the farewell ceremony of a renowned Polish traveler.
