Jan von Osten House

The Jan von Osten House is a historic Baroque-style building located at the intersection of Amaliegade and Toldbodgade in Copenhagen's Frederiksstaden neighborhood. Constructed between 1756 and 1760, it was designed by architect Niels Eigtved for timber merchant Jan von Osten. The house became the city residence of industrialist Johan Frederik Classen in 1770 and remained with his foundation until 1970. Notable former residents include Prime Minister Frederik Julius Kaas and politician Carl Blixen-Finecke. The building features a symmetrical facade with a central projection and is recognized as a protected site since 1918, making it an interesting stop for tourists and researchers alike.
