Westin Book Cadillac (historic hotel redevelopment)

Originally opened in 1924 as the Book-Cadillac Hotel and designed by architect Louis Kamper, the building is a landmark Renaissance Revival skyscraper on Washington Boulevard. After decades of decline and vacancy it underwent a major restoration and reopened in 2008 as the Westin Book Cadillac Detroit with hotel rooms and residential condominiums. The project is cited as a significant example of early-21st-century historic rehabilitation in Detroit's downtown revival.
