Fort Caroline National Memorial

Fort Caroline National Memorial preserves the site of a 16th-century French colonial fort established near the St. Johns River. The National Park Service operates a visitor center with interpretive exhibits and a marked outline of the original fortification on the grounds. The memorial interprets early French, Spanish, and Native American presence and conflicts in the Jacksonville area.
