400 West Market

400 West Market is the tallest skyscraper in Kentucky, located in Downtown Louisville. Standing at 549 feet with 35 stories, it was completed in 1993 and features a striking 80-foot Romanesque dome. Originally named the Capital Holding Building, it has undergone several name changes, reflecting its ownership transitions. The building offers over 633,000 square feet of office space and includes a retail area. A unique aspect is its festive lighting, which changes to red and green during the holiday season. Visitors can also find a statue of Alysheba, the 1987 Kentucky Derby winner, in the plaza, making it a notable landmark for tourists and researchers alike.
