Boston Massacre site - Old State House

The Boston Massacre occurred on March 5, 1770, when British soldiers fired into a crowd on King Street (now State Street), killing five colonists. The incident took place directly in front of the Old State House and became a major event in the buildup to the American Revolution. The site is marked by a circle of cobblestones and interpretive signage in front of the building. The Old State House now houses exhibits that interpret the massacre and its historical context.
