Old North Church (Christ Church)

Built in 1723, Old North Church is the oldest standing church building in Boston. It is traditionally associated with the April 18, 1775 lantern signal - 'one if by land, two if by sea' - that alerted patriots to the route British troops took to Lexington and Concord. The church remains an active parish and is a major stop on the Freedom Trail. The building houses original box pews and 18th-century furnishings open for public tours.
