O. Henry Hall

O. Henry Hall, located in the Sixth Street Historic District of Downtown Austin, Texas, is a historic courthouse and post office that has served various significant roles since its completion in 1879. Originally designed by architect James G. Hill, it housed the United States District Court for the Western District of Texas until 1936 and was the site of the trial of William Sidney Porter, better known as O. Henry. The building, named in honor of the famous author who lived nearby, was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1970 and currently serves as the administrative headquarters for the Texas State University System.
