Vessel at Hudson Yards

Vessel is a climbable public structure designed by Thomas Heatherwick and opened to the public in 2019 as part of the Hudson Yards development. The honeycomb-like interlocking stair design comprises 154 flights of stairs and approximately 2,500 steps arranged across multiple levels rising roughly 150 feet. It functions as a viewing and sculptural landmark on the Hudson Yards plaza and has been the subject of public discussion about access and safety since its opening.
