Flanders Callaway House

The Flanders Callaway House, built around 1812, is a historic two-story log home that reflects early Federal style architecture typical of the frontier era. Located near Marthasville, Missouri, it was constructed by Flanders Callaway, the son-in-law of the legendary frontiersman Daniel Boone. Notably, Boone's funeral took place in the barn of this homestead in 1820. The house was recognized for its historical significance by being listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1969, although it was delisted in 1994. In 1968, the house was dismantled and later reassembled in St. Charles County, making it a point of interest for both tourists and researchers exploring early American history.
