Texas Governor's Mansion (Italianate, 1856)

The Texas Governor's Mansion was designed by Austin architect Abner Cook and completed in 1856 as an Italianate-style residence for the state governor. It is one of the oldest continuously occupied governor's residences in the United States and is listed on the National Register of Historic Places. The mansion sustained an arson-caused fire in 2008 and was subsequently restored and returned to official use.
