Square Tavern

The Square Tavern, also known as the John West House, is a historic tavern located in Newtown Township, Pennsylvania. Built in 1742, this two-and-a-half-story brick building is notable for being the boyhood home of painter Benjamin West, who captured significant events in 18th century American history. The tavern was added to the National Register of Historic Places in 1984 and now serves as a museum and the Delaware County Tourist Bureau, offering visitors a glimpse into early American architecture and history.
