Louviers Village Club

The Louviers Village Club, established in 1917 in Louviers, Colorado, is a historic community building designed in the Craftsman style. It was created by E.I. du Pont de Nemours and Company to serve the needs of the company town that emerged around its explosives manufacturing plant. Listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1995, the club is significant for its role in the explosive industry's impact on the development of the American West and for its reflection of early 20th-century social history and recreation. The nearby Louviers Works plant was a major producer of dynamite, contributing significantly to mining and construction in the region until its closure in the early 1980s. Today, the club stands as a testament to the area's industrial heritage and community life.
