The Cedars (Greenwood, Virginia)

The Cedars, also known as Cocke's Tavern and The Casino, is a historic house located near Greenwood, Virginia, built between 1850 and 1860. This architecturally distinguished Greek Revival style home features a striking two-story front porch and has served various roles throughout its history, including a residence, boys' school, Civil War hospital, and gambling casino. The property also includes a kitchen and servants' quarters. Notably, it has been associated with ghost sightings, adding an intriguing element for visitors interested in the paranormal. The Cedars was added to the National Register of Historic Places in 1990.
