Cathedral Basilica of Saints Peter and Paul

The Cathedral Basilica of Saints Peter and Paul is the seat of the Roman Catholic Archdiocese of Philadelphia and the city's principal Catholic church. Designed by architect Napoleon LeBrun, construction began in 1846 and the building employs a basilica plan with a domed sanctuary and ornate interior decoration. The cathedral is located on the Benjamin Franklin Parkway near Logan Circle and hosts archdiocesan liturgies and major civic religious events.
