Project Row Houses

Project Row Houses is a community-based arts organization in Houston's Third Ward founded in 1993 by a collective of artists led by Rick Lowe that repurposed shotgun houses into exhibition, residency, and community spaces. The site combines contemporary art projects with social services and neighborhood engagement programs while preserving historic residential architecture. Its cluster of painted houses and courtyards reads as an intentional, intimate cultural enclave within the city.
