Spurs' move to San Antonio and HemisFair Arena tenure

The franchise that became the San Antonio Spurs began as the Dallas Chaparrals in the American Basketball Association and relocated to San Antonio in 1973. After the move the team played its home games at HemisFair Arena, where the Spurs competed from 1973 until moving to the Alamodome in 1993. HemisFair Arena hosted numerous playoff games and early Spurs history events during that period.
