The Warfield Theatre as a major San Francisco concert venue

The Warfield Theatre, built in 1922 as a vaudeville house at 982 Market St, later became a prominent San Francisco concert venue. Promoter Bill Graham operated the Warfield in the late 20th century and the venue hosted many rock and folk artists, including Bob Dylan and other nationally known performers. The theater's ornate interior has been preserved and it is recognized as an important live-music hall in the city's music history. The Warfield continues to present concerts today.
