Delhi Town Hall

The Delhi Town Hall, located in Chandni Chowk, is a historic Victorian/Edwardian-style building that served as the Municipal Corporation of Delhi's headquarters from 1866 until 2009. Constructed post-1857 Rebellion, it originally housed the Lawrence Institute, a cultural complex for the European community. The building features striking yellow-painted brick and stone architecture with white-stone trim, surrounded by Mughal-inspired gardens. Despite its heritage status, the Town Hall has fallen into disrepair and is currently underutilized, with proposals for restoration as a museum or heritage hotel. It remains a significant landmark reflecting Delhi's colonial past and architectural heritage.
