Treasure Island's long-running pirate spectacle

Treasure Island Resort & Casino opened on the Strip in 1993 and for many years staged a free, outdoor pirate-themed spectacle-initially 'Battle of Buccaneer Bay' and later 'The Sirens of TI'-at its exterior lagoon. The pirate show was a visible daytime and evening attraction for passing tourists until the resort retired the spectacle in 2013 as it shifted marketing and entertainment offerings. Locals and visitors often joked about the park-like, theme-park show being emblematic of Las Vegas’s over-the-top theming in the 1990s and 2000s.
