Cushing American Legion Building

The Cushing American Legion Building, located in Cushing, Oklahoma, was established in 1924 as a gathering place for American Legion Post 108, formed by World War I veterans. This historic Mission Revival structure featured distinctive architectural elements such as a raised parapet and a colonnade of square columns. The building served as a venue for various social events and commemorative observances, including Armistice Day and Memorial Day. Over the years, it expanded to include World War II veterans and hosted numerous local group meetings. Although it was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 2003, the building was unfortunately demolished in 2017 following significant damage from a 5.0 magnitude earthquake.
