Old South Meeting House - 18th-century meeting house

Old South Meeting House at 310 Washington Street was built in 1729 as a Puritan meeting house and became a central public meeting space in colonial Boston. Large assemblies held there in 1773 helped organize colonial protest actions, including the series of meetings that led to the Boston Tea Party. The building survived subsequent redevelopment and now operates as a museum preserving its 18th-century meeting-house interior and historical records. Its timber-frame construction and original gallery plan exemplify colonial-era public-building infrastructure.
